Modern Love Chennai, Virupaksha, Agent to Ayalvaashi on Prime Video, Netflix, Sony LIV and others - OTT South releases of the week

One of the most-awaited series, the Tamil adaptation of the Modern Love franchise dropped on Prime Video today. This apart, a slew of films are slated to hit screens on OTT this week, which includes Maruti Nagar Police Station. Virupakasha, Agent and Ayalvaasi to name a few.

The Tamil and the third Indian adaptation of the Modern Love Franchise, touches upon love in its multifarious forms. The episodes include Margazhi, Imaigal, Lalagunda Bommaigal, Kaadhal Enbadhu Kannula Heart Irukkura Emoji, Paravai Kootil Vaazhum Maanga and Ninaivo Oru Paravai. The episodes are helmed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Bharathiraja, Raju Murugan, Krishnakumar Ramakumar, Balaji Sakthivel and Akshay Sundher.

Maruti Nagar Police Station

Maruti Nagar Police Station follows the story of four close friends who are avenging the death of their friend. The film raises questions of justice and morality as they hatch an intelligent plan to take down an accomplice of the notorious don Naga. But they find themselves embroiled in a larger conspiracy. Starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Arav and Santhosh Prathap, the film is helmed by Kannada filmmaker Dayal Padmanabhan.

Director Ganesh Raj's sophomore film revolves around an old-aged couple. When Ittoop discovers a love letter that was sent to his wife Kochuthressia almost 50 years ago, he decides to seek a divorce.The events become the talk of the town and impacts  the wedding of his grandchild Elsy, who decides to find out the truth.

Virupaksha

Debutant director Karthik Dandu's film revolves around how Surya (Sai Dharam Tej) protects his ancestral village of Rudravaram and saves everyone there. When a series of deaths happen in the village, the temple head suspects that the village is haunted by an evil spirit and no one can enter or leave the village for eight days. Surya decides to unravel the mystery. Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady.

Ramakrishna, a budding ethical hacker, is desperate to work for RAW. Debutant filmmaker and scriptwriter Irshad Parari's Ayalvaashi revolves around childhood friends and neighbours Thaju and Benny, played by Soubin Shahir and Binu Pappu. Cracks, however, begin to form in their friendship when a series of misunderstandings lead to incidents that impact their personal lives. Thaju vows to find out who the root cause of their quarrel is.
