Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani returned to the second season of Mithya, titled, Mithya - The Darker Chapter. They reprised the roles of Juhi and Rhea. The series has been receiving mixed reviews since its release. The story of the 2nd season follows Juhi facing plagiarism accusations from an author, Amit Chaudhary (Naveen Kasturia) as the latter claimed that she copied the plot for her book, Dhundh from his unpublished manuscript. Hours after the release, the makers dropped a captivating video featuring Juhi and Rhea.
On November 1, ZEE5 took to their official Instagram account and shared a new clip of Mithya - The Darker Chapter featuring Huma Qureshi as Juhi and Avantika Dassani as Rhea. The clip shows Juhi and Rhea facing off each other after Anand Tyagi (Rajit Kapur) committed suicide. Notably, Rhea is the step-sister of Juhi. The clip also shows both Juhi and Rhea confronting secrets and truths as they fight against each other out of revenge.

Sharing the video, the streaming platform captioned it, "A fog of secrets, revenge, and endless lies Find out what's hiding behind it in #MithyaTheDarkerChapter now streaming, only on ZEE5!"
OTTPlay review of the series says, "Mithya - The Darker Chapter is filled with so many complex and incoherent plots that you feel lost at one point in time." It also added that the series has many unnecessary cliffhangers that destroy the curiosity. However, the 2nd season of Mithya also captures a mother's sacrifices to save her child.
The second season shows Juhi publishing her new book, Dhundh, but is immediately taken aback by accusations of plagiarism from another author, Amit Chaudhary (Naveen Kasturia). While Juhi's life is messed up, Rhea continues to plot to take revenge on Juhi and make game plans to come closer to her father as she yearns for acceptance in the family.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Huma Qureshi opened up about working with new director Kapil Sharma in Mithya - The Darker Chapter. She said that it didn’t feel any different and she always felt like he was part of season one.
"Even though he’s new to the show, he was completely at ease with the surroundings. Often, when a new director comes in, especially with a cast and crew from the previous season, it takes a while for things to settle. But he took to it like a fish to water—it was seamless," Huma said.
Meanwhile, Mithya – The Darker Chapter is set to stream on ZEE5 from November 1, 2024. You can also watch the show on OTTplay Premium with a subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
