Hum Qureshi's crime-drama series Mithya recently debuted ZEE5, which saw her play a university professor. The actor, who has been a part of the Netflix series Leila and played a politician in Maharani, has many upcoming projects lined up in which she emulates characters that are in deep contrast with one another.
Qureshi told IANS that she consciously chooses not to pick similar roles. " I do not want to repeat myself as an actor," said. The actor explained that the decision is driven by her desire to get out of her comfort zone and "find challenge in every character I play."
"I have no other drive but to prove myself in every film and series that I do, because I am living my dream," she added.
Qureshi said that being an actor had been a dream of hers ever since she was a child and pretend to be someone else "wearing different clothes, posing in front of the mirror, using her mother's dupatta and lipstick." For her, becoming someone else on screen has always been fascinating as it was when she was younger.
She will be seen next in a cameo appearance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-Alia Bhatt drama Gangubai Kathiawadi and is also a part of Ajith's upcoming thriller Valimai. Besides these, she is also working on a new season of Maharani, a Netflix thriller series Monica, O My Darling with Rajkummar Rao and Radhika Apte as well as a film titled Double XL.
