Avantika Dassani made her acting debut with a splash, sharing the screen with Huma Qureshi. The debutante, who is the daughter of Bollywood actress Bhagyashree, had her first on-screen appearance in the web series Mithya. Dassani recently opened up about her experience working on the show.
In a statement, the actress said that she had a ‘blast’ working on the show, and felt grateful for the support she got on the sets of her first project. She talked about how excited she was and the array of questions she had when she started out, saying she really appreciated how everyone on set was patient with her.
The actress said that although she was impatient with getting started, she also was anxious to do her role right. The way she could joke around and have fun on sets with her co-stars helped her with some of the pressure she was feeling and helped her really enjoy the process. It also helped her work as well as she could, she added.
Dassani also had nothing but good things to say about her director, Rohan Sippy. “Rohan Sir knew how much and where to push me and also where to let me know that I am doing 'Ok' every time that I was nervous,” she said. The actress also said she was lucky as she could not have asked for a better crew to kick off her foray into the industry.
Recently, Mithya showrunner Goldie Behl had revealed how he did not know about Dassani’s family before she was cast on the show. The filmmaker said that she was selected through the regular casting process.
Mithya can be streamed on ZEE5.
