Mithai: Soumitrisha Kundu gets a makeover as Mithi

Zee Bangla’s popular serial Mithai is going through a roller coaster ride. After its plummeting TRP, the serial lost its prime time slot on the channel. New serial Nim Phuler Modhu replaces the serial at 8 pm. Meanwhile, Mithai and her Modak family got a new slot at 6 pm. However, the makers are putting up a valiant fight and now there seem to be major changes on the tracks. 

Going by the storyline, Mithai, played by Soumitrisha Kundu, hails from a village. She comes to the city to sell sweets. Then Mithai visits the Modak family and gets into a romantic relationship with Siddhartha Modak who had just returned from abroad. Each and every episode of the serial won the viewers’ hearts. 

Still, Mithai lost its previous top position in the TRP list. Everyone hoped that the arrival of Mithai's Gopal would bring back luck. But that trick has failed. Hence the team looked for a new twist and chose the departure of Mithai from the show. But a show never runs without the heroine. Hence Soumitrisha Kundu has appeared in a new avatar as Mithi.

Now, this Mithi is completely different from Mithai. She wears western dresses and a jacket. She also has a stylish hairdo. Soumitrisha’s fans are very much surprised at her new avatar. But will it change the game? While the promo is out, we have to wait till Thursday to know that.
