Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, the second instalment of the intense love story directed by Hemanth M Rao, with Rakshit Shetty in the lead, had made its way to OTT on January 25, more than two months after its theatrical release. Rakshit, who is also the producer of the film had given it to Amazon Prime Video, the platform that also houses the first part, Side A, although details of the deal were not made public.
As of this week, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B is no longer on the platform. Queries about the same have remained unanswered by the team and the streamer. At the time of its theatrical release, Side B did not have an OTT partner on board, but it was expected to be picked up by Prime Video since Side A was already there. Rakshit, whose earlier deal with the streamer for his 777 Charlie was that it would only be on the store in the other languages except Kannada, appears to have opted for a short-term deal and is now moving it to another platform.
The satellite rights of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A and B rest with Zee Network and it is now thought that Side B will soon make its way to Zee5. Official confirmation is awaited. Incidentally, the OTT deal with Prime Video for Side A was made by Pushkar Mallikarjunaiah and not Rakshit.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello was earlier meant to be produced by Pushkar, with the latter eventually handing it to Rakshit. By then, though, Pushkar had sold the OTT rights to Amazon Prime Video, under the assumption that it would be one film. As part of this deal, Side A was given to the streamer, while Rakshit was free to sell the rights of Side B.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello follows Manu (Rakshit) a driver for a wealthy businessman, who agrees to take the blame and do a short jail stint in a hit-and-run-case. But when the rich man dies and his family refuses to handle Manu’s legal affairs, he gets a 10-year sentence, as the hit-and-run was fatal. How this affects Manu’s relationship with the love of his life, Priya (Rukmini Vasanth), forms the crux of the tale, with Side B detailing Manu’s life after he’s released.
