Mirzapur season 3 finally happening? Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has THIS to say

After two blockbuster seasons of Mirzapur, the makers of the Amazon Prime show are all set to return with the third instalment. After the major cliffhanger at the end of the second season, fans were waiting for the highly-anticipated part starring Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal.

Talking about the upcoming season, producer Ritesh Sidhwani told Bollywood Hungama that the team is currently waiting for the anticipated part of the show. He further revealed that the shoot was supposed to start this year but could not due to the pandemic. The filmmaker also said that even the restrictions have been eased by the government now, the team couldn’t start the shooting process. However, the releasing date, cast and more are yet to be announced, while the shoot will begin next year.

After the final incident of the first season, where Guddu Bhaiya’s (Ali) brother and wife got killed, he went on to take revenge in the second season from Munna (Divyendu Sharma), who was an unworthy, power-hungry son of Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj), who is the biggest mafia don of Mirzapur city. Mirzapur season 2 ended at a major cliffhanger, where Guddu and Golu (Shweta Tripathi) killed Munna and completely wounded Kaleen Bhaiya, while Guddu was seen sitting at the throne of Mirzapur. The second instalment of the series also features Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
