Upcoming Telugu actor Teja Sajja was last seen in the hit Telugu film Hanu-Man, which released earlier this year. The actor will be next seen in a film titled Mirai, the makers announced on social media on Thursday while releasing the first look poster. The team also announced the release date of the film. Mirai will hit theatres on April 18, 2025, exactly one year from the date of announcement (today).

Mirai is backed by Telugu production house People Media Factory and will be helmed by cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Karthik Gattamneni. The makers also released a glimpse video, teasing the film’s subject, which is based on King Ashoka and his Secret 9.

After the Kalinga War made a dent in the history of the emperor, nine warriors were employed to protect their generations, and there is an involvement of secret scriptures to keep their bloodline running. The glimpse also reveals Teja Sajja’s heroic entry, who is out there to prevent the eclipse from reaching the Secret 9 of Ashoka and battle the evil forces. He is shown to excel in stick fighting and other forms of defence.

More about Mirai

Mirai will feature Ritika Nayak as the female lead. Information on the rest of the cast members is yet to be announced. Karthik has also doubled up as the cinematographer for the film. He has penned the screenplay, alongside Manibabu Karanam, who has written the dialogues. Sri Nagendra Tangala is the art director. Mirai will have a multi-language release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi and Chinese on April 18, 2025. The film will be released in 2D and 3D versions.

Meanwhile, Teja Sajja was last seen in Hanu-Man, which was released on Sankranthi and became a commercial hit. The film, like Mirai, was also a superhero drama based on the Hindu deity Hanuman. The film is available to be streamed on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium.
