Actress Aisha Ahmed - who plays the female lead, Riya, in the newly released show on Lionsgate Play, Minus One: New Chapter - has said that she took up a workshop on intimacy before the show, which helped both her and her co-star Ayush Mehra to create a wonderful chemistry on screen.
Speaking about her onscreen chemistry with Ayush, Aisha told OTTplay, “Despite knowing each other off screen for so long and working together, Ayush and I have put a lot of effort into creating the onscreen chemistry. And since there were intimate scenes in the show, we also did an intimate workshop for 15 days. That was really helpful and we learned a lot as actors from the workshop. We also sat down with the director of the show to understand the script better and that was equally helpful for us. When you know a character in and out, it becomes your second nature to react like the character in the show.”
Aisha has been previously part of projects like Adulting, 3 Storeys, Raid, Amritsar Junction, Balcony Buddies Linear and Clean, to name a few.
The story of Minus One: New Chapter revolves around Varun and Riya, who were friends earlier and then became lovers, and eventually broke up. But they decided to live in the same house even after their breakup. The situation becomes more complex when new people enter their lives.
The show started as a YouTube web series and it received a positive response in 2019. Considering the popularity of the show, the makers decided to expand the story into new episodes.
Directed by Sidhantha Mathur and Shubham Yogi, Minus One: New Chapter also features comedian-actress Kusha Kapila. It is now streaming on Lionsgate Play and OTTplay app.
