Fans of Minus One, here’s some good news for you. Ayush Mehra and Aisha Ahmed’s show has been renewed and it is literally called, Minus One: New Chapter, hinting at the new chapter of their lives. What’s more? This series is going to be a Valentines’ Day gift for everyone – couple or not.
The streaming platform Lionsgate Play has unveiled the first poster of Minus One: New Chapter and it shows the transition of the couple. From a happy and much-in-love couple, Varun and Ria have turned extremely serious and complicated in their lives, individually and with one another.
The unique love story revolves around the theme called ‘Forever isn’t always.’ Although it might take you back to Arjun Bijlani-Kanika Mann’s Roohaniyat, which had the tagline ‘forever is a lie,’ this concept is definitely hatke from that one.
The new season will pick off right from where the previous one left off – Varun and Ria being confused about where they currently are in life. While the ex-couple is confused, their current partners are left even more confused seeing the bond they share despite parting ways.
Shubham Yogi promises to bring forth two timelines of the relationship that is ‘likely to speak to the viewers at a deeper level.’ He hints that the tables have turned this time around. The director also promises to bring some closure when it comes to the characters.
“It’s so much more than just a story, there's a whirlwind of emotions, twists and depths,” Ayush explained about his character on the show. Meanwhile, Aisha promises the unconventional chemistry between Varun and Ria. She shares that the characters have evolved and thus, it was tough to bring that out in this season. “This story will speak to all the millennials and Gen Zs who are in a constant battle of finding their own identity in a relationship,” the actress adds in a press statement.
Six episodes of Minus One: New Chapter will start streaming on Lionsgate Play. The show will be available for viewing from February 14, 2023.
