Reports indicated that the streaming giant was not prepared to handle the live streaming of such a massive event. Many fans worldwide reported irregular streaming, constant buffering, and glitches, causing them to miss key moments from the historic fight.
Netflix Hit With a Lawsuit
This mishap has left many fans upset, with some considering canceling their Netflix subscriptions. A fan in Florida, however, has taken it a step further and filed a lawsuit against Netflix, alleging that the platform deceived fans with its unprepared approach to streaming the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight, which was unwatchable for many. The lawsuit emphasizes that the streaming issues during the event constitute a breach of contract on Netflix's part, as well as deceptive trade practices under Florida law.

The lawsuit further states that Netflix "continued billing for services not delivered.”

Not Netflix’s First Streaming Blunder
The lawsuit also points out that this isn’t the first time Netflix has botched a live streaming event. In 2023, the platform faced similar issues during the Love Is Blind reunion special. The event started an hour late and experienced the same problems of glitches and buffering. Ultimately, Netflix aired a taped version of the reunion 24 hours later, instead of delivering the promised live event.Netflix has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
