Midhun Manuel Thomas is gearing up for his next project with a digital platform soon. The filmmaker shared a photo from the puja ceremony of his upcoming work titled Anali, which will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
The director himself, along with John Manthrickal, have penned the screenplay for this project. Leona Lishoy and Nikhila Vimal are playing the lead roles in Anali, which is bankrolled by Asiaville Studios.
The filmmaker is making his digital debut with Anali. His most recent film was the Jayaram-starrer Abraham Ozler, which was released in January. The investigative thriller is all set to have an OTT release soon.
Fans’ response over Anali
In the social media post by Midhun, users expressed their enthusiasm about the project's announcement in the comments section. Some described it as another Malayalam web series to look out for this year, while many others predicted that it might also be a thriller or a film with suspenseful elements like most of his prior works.
Some have also conjectured that the director, for all of his directorials, including Aadu, Anjaam Pathiraa, and Ann Maria Kalippilaanu, has used the letter A as the initial letter. Actors Adam Sadiq and Nikhila Vimal expressed their excitement for the project as well.
Malayalam web series in 2024
The Malayalam industry has been releasing a series of web series with big names to look forward to in 2024, starting with Kerala Crime Files, which was released last year. Nikhila Vimal's Perilloor Premier League, accessible on Disney+ Hotstar, kicked off the year.
More information about Nithin Renji Panicker's Madhu Vidhu should be released shortly. The web series, which stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Prashanth Alexander, Janardhanan, Ramesh Pisharody, Grace Antony, Shweta Menon, Kani Kusruti, and Niranjana Anoop, is helmed as a dark comedy drama. This year, Najeem Koya's 1000+ Babies is anticipated to be released as well. The makers of Kerala Crime Files confirmed that work on the second season is underway.
