Yash Dasgupta and Nusrat Jahan are all set to step into the film production with their new film. During its announcement in June last year, the film was named, Mentaaal. The film featuring them and Sayantani Ghosh will hit the theatres in two days on January 19. However, the film's name changed to Sentimentaaal at the last moment. According to sources, the change took place upon the suggestion of the censor board. Baba Yadav directed the film.
Nusraat and Yash took to their social media and announced the name change. “Out of the love of our audience, we are changing our name from Mentaaal to Sentimentaal. Only the name got changed. Everything else is all the same. We will meet you at the theatres on January 19,” the common message for both the actors said. While Yash shared the message with Baba Yadav, Nusrat shared it with Neel Bhattacharya.
Billed as a hardcore mainstream commercial film, the film delves into the law and order failure in a place, Raghunathpur. The area is controlled by a powerful and corrupt politician, Rudhani Didimoni. Yash plays an honest supercop who falls in love with Nusrat Jahan. The film trailer also shows a glimpse of politician Madan Mitra. Produced by YD Films, the Sentimentaal will be released on January 19.
