Meiyazhagan, the C Prem Kumar directorial, which starts Karthi and Arvind Swami in the lead roles, is one of the most-loved Tamil films of recent times. The movie, which earned immense love from both the audiences and critics, had a successful run at the theatres. After wrapping up its big screen run, Meiyazhagan has finally had its OTT release. Karthi and Arvind Swami’s film is currently available for streaming on the popular OTT platform, Netflix.

The Karthi and Arvind Swami starrer finally had its long-awaited streaming debut on the popular OTT platform Netflix, today (October 25, 2024). Meiyazhagan had its OTT release at midnight, and is currently available for streaming, in five languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. As expected, the C Prem Kumar directorial has been receiving excellent reviews from the netizens and is expected to recreate its magic in the OTT space, as well.

The slice-of-life drama film revolves around Arulmozhi Varman, a Chennai-based man who returns to his hometown in Tanjavur after 22 years, for his cousin Bhuvana’s wedding. Despite sharing a deep connection with his village and ancestral home, Arul tries to return to Chennai as soon as possible, unable to confront his painful past. However, a young man, his relative whom he fails to identify, changes Arul’s views with his unconditional love and childlike enthusiasm and takes him back through the memory lane with a memorable night.

Arvind Swami appears as Arulmozhi Varman in the film, which stars Karthi as his loving relative, Meiyazhagan. Raj Kiran, Sri Divya, Swati Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjini, Ilavarasu, Saran Shakthi, Rajkumar, and others. Govind Vasantha composed the songs and original score for the film. Mahendiran Jayaraju is the director of photography. R Govindraj handled the editing of the film. The C Prem Kumar directorial is bankrolled by Jyotika and Suriya, under the banner 2D Entertainments.
