Meiyazhagan OTT release: Karthi, Arvind Swami’s film to have extended runtime?

Meiyazhagan, the family drama film directed by C Prem Kumar, is one of the most loved Tamil films of recent times. Karthi and Arvind Swami played the lead roles in the project, which revolves around a heartwarming tale of relationships. The movie earned rave reviews from both the audiences and critics, with its excellent making and performances. After a successful theatrical run, Meiyazhagan is slated to be released on popular OTT platform Netflix, on October 25, 2024.

Meiyazhagan OTT version to have an extended runtime?

As reported earlier, the Meiyazhagan team trimmed around 18 minutes of the film after its release, to make it more enjoyable for the theatrical audiences. However, recent updates suggest that Karthi and Arvind Swami’s, which is slated to be released on Netflix, will hit the OTT screens in its original version. The recent screengrabs of Netflix announcement revealed the OTT runtime of the film, which is two hours and 38 minutes.

Meiyazhagan: OTT release date, time, and languages

As reported earlier, Meiyazhagan is gearing up to have its OTT release on Netflix, on Friday, October 25, 2025. Karthi and Arvind Swami’s film is expected to be streamed on the platform from midnight. Even though the C Prem Kumar directorial had its theatrical release only in Tamil, the upcoming OTT version is expected to be streamed in five languages, including, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The cinephiles, who missed Meiyazhagan in theatres, are eagerly waiting for the OTT release of the film.

Karthi appears as the titular character Meiyazhagan in the film, while Arvind Swami plays Arulmozhi. The C Prem Kumar directorial features a massive star cast including Raj Kiran, Sri Divya, Swati Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjini, Ilavarasu, Saran Shakthi, Rajkumar, and others. Govind Vasantha composed the songs and original score for the film. Mahendiran Jayaraju is the director of photography. R Govindraj handles the editing. The C Prem Kumar directorial is bankrolled by Jyotika and Suriya, under the banner 2D Entertainments.
