Meher Ramesh: Bholaa Shankar is a gift for fans this Chiranjeevi’s birthday

Meher Ramesh, who made a mark as a director with films like Billa, Kanthri, faced multiple setbacks in the form of Shadow and Shakti later. He’s returning after a long sabbatical with Bholaa Shankar, the Telugu remake of Vedalam, headlined by Chiranjeevi, that releases in theatres on August 11. Ahead of the release, the makers launched the teaser today amidst fans in a theatre in Hyderabad. The director assured a solid entertainer to Chiru fans.

“I was one among you many years ago who watched Chiranjeevi’s films 40-50 times. Bholaa Shankar is coming from a mad ‘mega’ fan and it’ll have his style, swag and all the elements you expect from a Chiranjeevi film. Now that you’ve watched the teaser, you know he’s matchless and ageless. You enjoyed Waltair Veerayya for Sankranthi, you may not have a festival on August 11, but there will be festive vibes with Bholaa Shankar,” Meher Ramesh said.

“Let’s celebrate Chiranjeevi’s birthday - August 22 - in theatres this time. We have made a film with a lot of love and it is a prestigious production. Marthand K Venkatesh is part of the film - he’s someone who’s edited films like Tholi Prema, Kushi, Godfather and comes with an experience of having worked on over 450 projects. Cinematographer Dudley has worked on Singam, Dilwale, Chennai Express and needs no introduction,” he added.

“Mani Sharma has given so many hits to Chiranjeevi over the years and now his son, Mahati Swara Sagar, is taking his legacy forward. Chiranjeevi accepted immediately when I suggested his name. Be it Bholaa Mania, this teaser or the other songs, he’s created a unique sound for ‘mega’ star. My team has put in all efforts, Chiranjeevi has worked till 2 am in the night at times. It is tough to match up to his speed,” the director stated.

A new song will be launched next week. Anil Sunkara is bankrolling the film under AK Entertainments. Tamannaah, Keerthy Suresh, Sushanth play other pivotal roles in the action entertainer.
