Meghana Raj Sarja is a psychiatrist in second film with director Kantha Kannalli, Shabda

Last year, on the late Chiranjeevi Sarja’s birthday, his wife and actress Mehana Raj Sarja announced her return to acting, after a break to have their son, Raayan Raj Sarja, with a thriller project to be produced by Pannaga Bharana and directed by debutant Vishal.

Then, two weeks ago, there was news of yet another film. This time around the actress announced a second collaboration with director Kantha Kannalli, after Iruvudellava Bittu, which won her a Karnataka State Best Actress award. Along with a picture of the film team, Meghana had written, “Announcing my next film #Shabda … my previous film with the same team #iruvudellavabittu fetched me the state award and a film crew which im immensely proud of! Working with @kanthakannalli for the 2nd time is definitely a boon. Updates to follow soon. Thank you all once again for ur support and prayers.”

We now hear that the narrative progresses from the perspective of three pivotal characters, one of which is Meghana’s Madhavi, a psychiatrist. “Madhavi is someone who dissects why, where and when a particular incident took place, which is the core element of the movie,” she was quoted as saying.

The shoot of Shabda is currently underway in Kundapur, where the team recently celebrated cinematographer PKH Das’ career milestone. Shabda, as it turns out is Das’ 100th film as DOP. “It's a milestone ,my 100th movie as a cinematographer. What a journey ,Feeling grateful. It was surprise celebration on the shabdha movie set,” he wrote on social media along with images from the celebration.

Meghana, who was last seen onscreen in the 2019 Kurukshetra, has Selfie Mummy Google Daddy with Srujan Lokesh up for release, as well as Buddhivanta 2 with Upendra. Interestingly, the dance reality show that she’s judging now, Dancing Champion, is a Srujan Lokesh production.
