This time around they’ve got not one, but three Megalodons. The film opens in theatres on August 4. If you thought that Jurassic Park’s Basilosaurus was the biggest and scariest apex predator under water, well, wait till you see the latest Megalodon in Jason Sthatham’s Meg 2. This one’s capable of making mincemeat of a T-Rex in seconds. It’s the biggest Meg anyone’s ever seen. And it is not alone. There’s three of them that have surfaced from the trench and are hunting in packs to munch on some humans. And despite their learnings from the first encounter with a Meg, turns out, man has not yet fully learnt how to build a Meg-proof under-water station. The trailer to the sequel of the 2018 blockbuster The Meg came out earlier today and netizens are loving how the makers seem to have wholly embraced silliness in this tale about pre-historic sharks.
Comments varied from “Just a fun, action-packed shark film that doesn’t take itself too seriously”, to “They seem to be embracing the silliness and that is great”, “If the cast is Jason, then u know no matter what the genre is, it's always fun and thrilling”, “Jason Statham stopping an enormous shark from eating him with his bare foot is the most Jason Statham thing ever”. “what i like about jason Statham is he can turn the most ridiculous premise into a fun action packed movie where everyone can have a good time” and “The perfect kind of mindless action we need every now and then”, among many others.
Directed by Ben Wheatley, best known for horror movies like Kill List and Sightseers, among others, this sequel will see Statham joined by action star Wu Jing, Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels, and Cliff Curtis, among others.
