Amazon Prime Video’s Comicstaan Season 3 has been receiving an encouraging response from the digital audience. The show premiered on the streaming platform on July 15 amid huge anticipation mainly because of the change in the show format and the inclusion of a new panel of mentors. While well-known comedians Sumukhi Suresh, Kenny Sebastian, Neeti Palta, and Zakir Khan served as the judges, the new installment had an array of mentors in the form of popular stand-up comics who lent their expertise in different fields to the contestants.

The eight contestants took the Comicstaan stage bringing in their own unique styles and sensibilities, and one could say that the diversity is the new season’s main charm. The top eight contestants have won not only the judges’ and mentors’ hearts but have also wowed the audiences. However, only four among them were able to find a place in the grand finale at Mumbai’s Royal Opera House following an intense tussle that featured an eclectic set of challenges such as Improv, Alternative Comedy, Roast, etc.

And the finale too, just as promised, was a superb exhibition of wits and humor with Aashish Solanki, Shreya Priyam, Aman Jotwani, and Gurleen Pannu competing for the top honors that also included a whopping cash prize of Rs. 20 Lakhs. After a long battle and a lot of deliberation by the judges, mentors, and the large audience combined, Aashish Solanki emerged the winner of Comicstaan 3 with Gurleen Pannu of Chandigarh taking the second place (winning a cash prize of Rs. 10 Lakhs).

With an average of 9.1, Aashish Solanki was announced as the winner of the third season of Comicstaan. A Delhi-based comedy enthusiast, Aashish took to his social media to share his journey on the show. In a heartfelt post, Ashish dedicated the coveted trophy of Comicstaan to his father, who has been a constant supporter of his ‘hatke’ career. Ashish, who has been performing at comedy clubs for the last five years, will be soon touring multiple cities for his first-ever stand-up tour.

First runner-up Gurleen Pannu was a surprise package! From judges and mentors, everyone marvelled at Gurleen’s growth on the show as she had just begun her comedy career. Staying constantly on the top of the leaderboard, the Chandigarh-based comedian lost to Ashish in the finale. Gurleen nailed all the formats and received a perfect 10 from the judges multiple times. Reminiscing about her Comicstaan days, Gurleen took to his social media and thanked the mentors for their constant support and feedback that helped her throughout.
