Meera Jasmine discussed her role as Elizabeth in M Padmakumar's upcoming film Queen Elizabeth in an interview with Asianet News. On December 29, the movie is scheduled to premiere on big screens. The actress said that she and Elizabeth have a few minor similarities. "I used to check my weight frequently, just like the character in the movie does," she remarked.
Elizabeth is a strong, independent woman with a strict demeanour who is feared by her family and coworkers, according to Meera. She continued by saying that the persona also maintains her distance from everyone. "Elizabeth uses her boldness as a shield to protect herself,” she added.
She said that when her sister read the story for the first time, she called her to tell her that the character seemed a bit like me. But the actress only chose to be a part of the movie because of the script, director, and her co-star, Narain.
"I had a positive feeling about this movie and thought it would be ideal to work on. Additionally, it is kind of similar to my all-time hit, Achuvinte Amma," she remarked. Meera also expressed her belief that all viewers, regardless of age, will find this movie entertaining.
When discussing her break from films, Meera said it was beneficial for her because it compelled her to take care of herself by doing the things she enjoyed, like travelling, working out, and eating properly. She also discussed the significance of maintaining mental health and stepping outside of one's comfort zone for personal development.
"My goal is to maintain professionalism when it comes to acting in films. Do my work and leave,” she said. Additionally, Meera said that constructive criticism benefits artists.
The actress made a comeback with Jayaram’s Makal in 2022. The crowd responded favourably to the film, which was directed by Sathyan Anthikkad, since it featured their favourite actress's return. She will appear in a lead role in a Tamil film titled The Test, which is lined up for 2024.
