How well did you embarrass off your first date? If you want to take a relook, head to Netflix’s social page and watch Meenakshi and Sundar stumbling over their conversations on the first date. The recently dropped quirky video featuring the lead actors from the Netflix Originals rom-com Meenakshi Sundareshwar will never fail to resemble your ‘firsts.’
In a three-minute-long video, the couple could be seen in a restaurant, amidst a romantic ambience, all set for their date. ‘What do you do to beat the first date jitters?’ reads the title, and the caption welcomes more ideas from netizens for the couple’s next date. The interesting video clip has already received many views, and audiences are excited as it once again reminds the release date to be November 5, 2021.
Meenakshi Sundareshwar, helmed by Vivek Soni is an upcoming Hindi-language movie that revolves around a young couple who are in a long-distance marriage. The film is also reported to be discussing the interlinked aspects of relationships, the awkwardness of a new marriage, the vastness of joint families and much more. Set in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, the rom-com will feature Sanya-Dassani duo as Meenakshi and Sundareswarar.
The movie is backed by India’s one of the biggest production houses, Dharmatic Entertainment, headed by Karan Johar. He had taken his Twitter earlier this month to announce the much-awaited release date of the movie. ‘Get ready to witness this unique and super cute long-distance love story this festive season with us’, wrote the producer alongside the movie’s poster.
Meanwhile, the movie has been making controversial headlines at the same time, after the release of its teaser. It was widely criticised for its stereotypical depiction of Southern culture, which depicted South Indians through a generalised notion. Many audiences expressed their displeasure and said that references like South Indians being pretentious English speaking people, being Rajnikanth fans, and much more, hurt their feelings.
