Meena requests media to not broadcast false information on the death of her husband

Actress Meena recently lost her husband Vidyasagar to a lung ailment. He was 48. Vidyasagar passed away on June 27 and different reasons were cited for the cause of his death. While some reports claimed that he lost his life to Covid, some stated that he had been suffering from a lung ailment for a long time and that his condition deteriorated after he contracted Covid. Though he recovered from Covid, he didn't respond to the treatment.

Now the Annaatthe actress herself has put up a post on her social media, requesting the media to not circulate any false information on the issue. In a post that she put up on social media, Meena said that she was deeply saddened by the demise of her husband and thanked everyone for standing with her. She wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the loss of my loving husband Vidya Sagar. I sincerely request all media to respect our privacy and sympathise this situation. Please stop further broadcast of any false information on this matter (sic) "

During these difficult times, I want to express my gratitude to all those good hearts who helped and stood with our family. I would like to thank all the Medical Team who tried their best, our Chief Minister, Health Minister, Radhakrishnan IAS, Colleagues, Friends, Family, Media & My loving fans for sending love and prayers," she added. (sic) "

A number of well wishers, friends and the film fraternity had paid a visit to Meena's residence to express their condolences. Superstar Rajinikanth, with whom Meena has worked in a number of films, too met the actress and spent some time consoling the family. 

Many others expressed their condolences on social media handles. Gautami wrote, "Heartbroken at the tragic loss of Meena's life partner. My tears and prayers are with her and their little one at this inconsolable time. May God give them strength in love and fortitude... (sic)"

Meena and Vidyasagar tied the knot in 2009. Vidyasagar is survived by Meena and their daughter Nainika, who played Vijay's daughter in Theri.
