May 2023 Week 1 OTT movies, web series India releases: From Corona Papers, Meter to Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo

In the first week of May 2023, many Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, English, Telugu, Japanese, and Gujarati movies and TV shows will be coming out on OTT platforms.

It's the start of the new month of May 2023, and several new and exciting titles are gearing up for their OTT releases. Many upcoming series, namely Fireflies: Parth aur Jugnu on ZEE5, Jewish Matchmaking and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story on Netflix, and Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo on Disney+ Hotstar, are releasing this week. Whereas movies such as Corona Papers on Disney+ Hotstar, Jhilli on Hoichoi, Meter and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar on Netflix, among others, will also be streaming after their theatrical run.

Corona Papers - May 5 (Disney+ Hotstar)

Jhilli - May 5 (hoichoi)

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story - May 4 (Netflix)

This prequel set in the "Bridgerton" world focuses on the events leading up to the marriage of young Queen Charlotte to King George of England.

Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo - May 5 (Disney+ Hotstar)

The show follows four strong female characters: Savitri, the matriarch; her daughters-in-law Bijli and Kajal; and her daughter Shanta, all of whom reside in the little, forgotten village of Hastipur in the far northwest. Rani Cooperative is Savitri's business, and it sells jari-booti balms and textiles. But don't be fooled; not everything is what it seems. This small firm was revealed to be a front for the largest drug gang operating in South Asia.

Sanctuary - May 4 (Netflix)

The criminal Kiyoshi Oze (Watauru Ichinose) finds himself on the outside of society, so he decides to become a sumo wrestler under the name "Enno" in this daring and dramatic human drama. While sumo has been practised as a religious ritual in Japan for over 1,500 years and is well known around the world, its inner workings remain shrouded in mystery. Sumo battles take place in a ring called a "dohyo," which is really a "sanctuary" in this strange universe. Despite being written off as a hopeless case because he lacks motivation to train, regularly skips practise, and defies his more experienced seniors, Oze gradually immerses himself in the world of sumo. Oze and the young people in and around the world of sumo are depicted in this human drama as they try to make their way in the world. Among them are Shimizu (Shota Sometani), who is passionate about sumo but lacks the physical attributes necessary to compete, and Kunishima (Shioli Kutsuna), a newspaper reporter who is assigned to cover the sport. This is where the story of the brave young people at the mercy of the "sanctuary" begins, as they fight for an impossible victory in the depths of despair.

Shabash Feluda - May 5 (ZEE5)

In the highlands of Gangtok, Mr. Bose, who works for a perfume firm, presents a case to Feluda and Topshe. His business partner's unexpected death must be investigated. Do we know the whole story?
