The first teaser of Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep’s next, Max, is here. The film, produced by Kalaippuli Thanu and directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa is expected to be in theatres this September, in the run-up to which this teaser was dropped. The teaser, though, had everyone hankering for more, with the leading man making his appearance well past the halfway mark of the 1-minute-long teaser.

What's in the Max teaser?

Set to Sudeep singing his version of Baa Baa Black Sheep, the teaser has glimpses of the film’s main cast, including Sharath Lohithashwa, Sunil, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Pramod Shetty, among others, as well as a shot of an explosive action bit, with little else. But then, the Demon War promo that came out a year ago had already hinted at the film being an action-packed ride and that Kiccha, as Arjun Mahakshay was quite the unstoppable force. In that sense, the teaser offered nothing new. Hopefully, the trailer will shed more light on what’s to come.

Max is Sudeep’s first film since 2022’s Vikrant Rona. The film has been in the making for a year, with rumours suggesting that a first week of September release is likely on the cards. The teaser was expected to drop the release date, but there was no such luck in store for fans. What the teaser did reveal is that Max will be a pan-India release, with versions in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

Earlier this year, when a synopsis of Max came on ticket aggregator sites, netizens had pointed out that it seemed similar to Ravi Teja’s Telugu film Krack, setting off a social media trend that the Kiccha Sudeep-starrer was an unofficial remake. In the last couple of days, there have been tweets from Sandalwood tracking pages that it is based on an original script. This speculation, however, can be laid to rest only after the trailer or the film’s release.
