First, Kiccha Sudeep fans were not happy at the delay in announcing the release date of the superstar’s next, Max. Then, once that happened, they wanted the team to pick up the pace of promotions, but producer Kalaippuli S Thanu had a different plan. His team would go on a promotional blitzkrieg with only 10 days to go for the film to hit theatres.

Max is set to release on December 15, and while the team has dropped a couple of teasers and a song too, there’s more in store in the coming days. For starters, there is an audio launch event that’s being held at a mall in Bengaluru on December 15 at 6.30 pm. The film is an Ajaneesh Loknath musical. This will be followed by a trailer launch on December 18 and a pre-release event on December 21. Sudeep has been doing promotional interviews too, which will be out shortly.

Late last night, Thanu had shared that the film had been censored U/A. However, he added that on December 25, only the Kannada version would be released, with the Tamil and Telugu versions to follow 2 days later. There was no word on if and when Malayalam and Hindi versions would make it to theatres.

The film is said to be all of 2 hours in duration, given that the subject revolves around something that happens one night at a police station. Sudeep is Arjun Mahakshay, the station-in-charge, who is nicknamed Max. How he deals with this situation is what the film is about. Ever since this plot line emerged, there have been rumours that Max is inspired from Ravi Teja’s Krack. However, the team of Max has maintained that it is an original subject.

Joining Sudeep on the cast are the likes of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sunil, Vamshi, Samyukta Hornad, Sukrutha Wagle, Ugramm Manju, Pramod Shetty, among others.
