PremiumMax release: Conflicting rumours about status of Kiccha Sudeep’s latest abound
Is Max being readied for a mid-August release or is it yet to be completed? Here’s the latest

A few days ago, Kiccha Sudeep fans thought they’d stumbled on the piece of information they’d been anxiously waiting for, about the release of his next, Max. A Kannada film PRO, known to be close to the actor and the film team, had tweeted, “August 15”, which set off rumour mills that the much awaited #Kiccha46 movie would be replacing Shivarajkumar’s Bhairathi Ranagal as the Independence Day release from Kannada.\
Max not complete?
This despite the fact that on June 7, a Tamil film reporter Valaipechu J Bismi was quoted as saying that the film by Vijay Karthikeyan was not complete. According to Valaipechu, Max was initially planned as a Rs 40 crore project, which, has now become Rs 76 crore, with about 20% of the film still pending.

Sudeep fans had disputed this information, as the actor had shared a video of him leaving Mahabalipuram, where he’d spent 10 months on the shoot of Max and supposedly changed his hairstyle too, which, they say, he would not have if he had to maintain continuity for the film.
But for two promos that came out early on during the making of the film, the team has not released any footage or update officially to date.
Earlier today, the buzz on social media was that Valaipechu was right after all. Apparently, the final schedule of Max is being planned to begin in the last week of July or early August. The film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Samyukta Hornad, Sukrutha Wagle, Sunil, Pramod Shetty, Redin Kingsley, Ugramm Manju, Karan Arya, among others.
Max has Sudeep in cop mode again, with a plot synopsis available online hinting at him as Arjun Mahakshay, who comes across a minister’s son committing atrocities against fellow police officials and arrests him for the same. But then, the minister’s son dies in the ensuing scuffle. What happens thereafter forms the crux of the movie.
