A story that transpires in one night – that’s what Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep’s Max is all about. The film has him as a cop, Arjun Mahakshay, who is all set to end a suspension and join duty, when there is an issue at his station the previous night. The narrative then focuses on what happens between the hours of 7 pm and 7 am, with Arjun Mahakshay having to literally be the demon that baddies fear.

In the promotional interviews of Max, Sudeep had said that while the teaser gives the impression that the film will be about a lot of violence and bloodshed, there is a lot more to it, even though there is a limitation of time, in terms of how the story is set and the run-time. What pushes Arjun Mahakshay, who’s been nicknamed Max, to use brute force against a set of very bad people is at the crux of the tale and the film’s censor certificate may have just pointed to what that incident is.

Max's big trigger point revealed?

Max had been censored a few days ago and was awarded U/A, but further details about the conditions for this certification were not available until recently. OTTplay took a look at the certificate and the recommended changes and while most of it was about reducing smoking visuals and running the statutory warning, besides muting a couple of expletives, the very first recommendation is for a No Objection certificate (NOC).

As per the censor certificate, there is a rape sequence in Max and the requirement was that the makers furnish an NOC from the parents of the girl in the scene. Could this be the trigger for Arjun Mahakshay to go on a deadly rampage? Well, we will know on December 25, when the film opens in theatres.

Meanwhile, the much-awaited trailer of the film is set to drop on December 22 at 11.08 am, with the pre-release event for later on the same day in Chitradurga. The film, directed by debutant Vijay Kartikeyaa and produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Ugramm Manju, Pramod Shetty, Sunil, Samyukta Hornad, among others.
