Matt Damon will once again don his ‘fake Loki’ persona in the upcoming MCU movie featuring the God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder.

In an appearance on The Jess Cagle Show, Damon revealed that he was spotted by the paparazzi while he was on the set of the new Thor movie. He said that he was reprising the cameo role that he did with Chris Hemsworth’s brother Luke. Damon also mentioned that they had enjoyed doing the cameo so much that director Taika Waititi had invited them back for a second time to do something similar, but with an ‘upgrade’.

In Thor: Ragnarok, a play is put on which depicts the events of Thor: The Dark World. In the skit, we see Damon playing an actor who gives a melodramatic rendition of a dying Loki, who is comforted by Thor’s character, played by Luke in the stage version seen in the film.

In the small scene, we also see San Neill, perhaps most well known for starring in Jurassic Park, making an appearance as the actor playing the stage version of Odin.

While in conversation with Nova, Neill had been asked about reprising his role in the upcoming movie, to which the star had replied that he was baffled when he was approached for the first one and had the same reaction when he was approached for the new one as well.

Thor: Love and Thunder will follow the events of Avengers: Endgame and will star Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum and Christian Bale.
