Pruthvi Ambaar might have found a lot of popularity and fame because of his role in 'Dia' but the actor has since then been trying hard to not confine himself to a specific "image".
Over the past year or two, he has taken on roles of varied kinds and even though they fall in the "feel-good" space, it seems evident that Pruthvi wants to experiment as a performer. One such attempt is 'Matsyagandha', a gritty crime drama that promises to present in a never-before-seen avatar.
While films like 'Sugarless', 'Bairagee' and even 'Dooradarshana' show a more affable side of Pruthvi Ambaar as an actor, 'Matsyagandha' proposes that there's a lot more to him. He plays a police officer in the film and sports a new snazzy look to fit the bill, and the first motion poster of the film, which was released very recently, suggests that, indeed, there's something new and novel on the cards for his fans.
The motion poster of 'Matsyagandha' also carries Pruthvi Ambaar's voiceover, which offers a taste of what to expect from this film. One senses that the central character played by Pruthvi is surrounded by an intense and volatile world that breeds crime and violence. However, another voice, in the same vein, reveals that it isn't the violence of the usual kind but has more to do with the "domestic" kind.
'Matsyagandha' is written and directed by Devraj Poojary, who has previously made the film 'Kinare' in 2018. The upcoming film is billed as the story of Uttara Kannada and one learns that the story takes place almost entirely in Honnavara, Kumta and surrounding regions. Pruthvi Ambaar is joined by Gopalkrishna Deshpande as part of the cast with B.S. Vishwanath producing the film and Prashanth Siddi scoring the music.
