Matka locks its OTT platform: Where to watch the Varun Tej starrer period drama

Matka is an upcoming Telugu film that needs to click at any cost as Varun Tej is going through a bad phase in his career as some of his last few films have flopped big time. So, he has pinned all his hopes on Matka, a gangster drama directed by Karun Kumar of Palasa fame.

The period drama is all set to hit the screens on November 14, 2024, in a big way and now, we at OTTplay bring you an exclusive update on the film's streaming partner. As per the inside news, Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital rights to Matka for a fancy price.

The word is also that Matka will have its OTT release in the third week of December 2024. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the female lead in this film which has been made on a huge budget. Varun Tej plays a gangster in this film and he will be seen in different age groups in Matka. The same was showcased stylishly in the teaser.  

The shooting of the film is done and the post-production formalities are on as of now. Matka is about gambling and how a young criminal becomes a dreaded gangster and runs an empire is the basic story of the film.

Matka is being produced by Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainment and the music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. His BGM in the promo has caught the attention of many already and very soon, the makers will release the trailer.

Varun Tej has banked heavily on this film which will showcase him in a new avatar. Karuna Kumar is known to make intense dramas and we need to see what he has in store for us with Matka. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
