The trailer of Atharvaa and Manikandan's upcoming gangster drama Mathagam is out. Going by the trailer, it looks like the web series revolves around a police force which is all set to bust a crime syndicate which poses a threat to the city. While Atharvaa plays an earnest cop, Manikandan plays one of the gangsters.

The trailer also gives a sneak peek into their interesting face-off where Manikandan says that despite holding a licensed gun, Atharvaa cannot shoot at his whim as he is responsible to the law. He adds that he can go on a shooting spree, on the other hand, since he isn't answerable to anyone. The series is set in a span of 30 hours and showcases a siege that happens overnight.

The trailer also gives a glimpse of Ivarasu, Gautham Menon, Nikhila Vimal, Dilnaz Irani, Ilavarasu, Dhivyadarshini, Vadivukarasi, Aruvi Thirunavukkarasu, Munnar Ramesh, Sarath Ravi, Rishikanth and Murali Abbas, to name a few. The series is directed by Prasath Murugesan, who made films like Kidaari (2016).

The intriguing series will drop on Disney + Hotstar on August 18. The combination of Atharvaa and Manikandan, who is basking in the success of his last outing Good Night, has piqued the curiosity of fans. Music for the series is by Darbuka Siva, cinematography by Edwin Sakay and editing by Praveen Antony.

While the action sequences are choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan, art direction is by Suresh Kallery. The series will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi.

The series also marks the debut of Atharvaa on Disney + Hotstar. Manikandan's Good Night is also streaming on the same platform. This will be Malayalam actress Nikhila Vimal's big release in Tamil after her last outing Por Thozhil, in which she shared screen space along with Sarathkumar and Ashok Selvan. Interestingly, Por Thozhil, too, was a cop drama.
