Atharvaa is all set to make his web series debut with director Prasath Murugesan's Mathagam. The web series, which revolves around cops and a bunch of dreaded gangsters, has him share screen space with Manikandan, who is basking in the success of his last film, the feel-good drama Good Night. Mathagam will mark Manikandan's debut as a lead actor in a web series.
A power-packed trailer
The trailer of the web series was recently released and it featured a cat and mouse game between a few cops and gangsters. The series is set in a span of 30 hours and showcases a siege that happens overnight where the cops try to bust a crime syndicate.

The face-off between Atharvaa and Manikandan
It would be interesting to see the lead actors lock horns with each other from two ends of the spectrum. While Atharvaa plays an earnest cop, Manikandan plays a gangster. The trailer gives a sneak peek into their face-off where Manikandan says that despite holding a licensed gun, Atharvaa cannot shoot as and when pleased as he is responsible to the government. However, he can go on a shooting spree, since he isn't answerable to anyone.
The impressive star cast
Apart from the lead actors, the series also stars Gautham Menon, Nikhila Vimal, Dhivyadharshini and Ilavarasu, who play interesting characters to perfection. Interestingly, Nikhila was recently seen in the hit film, Por Thozhil.
Technical crew
While Darbuka Siva has composed the music, cinematography is by Edwin Sakay and editing by Praveen Antony. While the action sequences are choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan, art direction is by Suresh Kallery.
An August 2023 Release
The series, which is all set to drop on Disney + Hotstar on August 18 will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi. Matham is bankrolled by produced by Screen Scene Media Entertainment
