Thanks to its enormous popularity, MasterChef India has captivated foodies nationwide with a wide range of recipes and challenges. The highly acclaimed show has made it into the digital space, with the makers revealing its OTT release date. MasterChef India Telugu will be streaming on Sony LIV starting January 22.
The promo for the show was unveiled by SonyLiv on its social media page in October last year. “Get ready to discover the symphony of culinary expressions. Indulge in the artistry of flavours where every dish tells a unique story,” it wrote.
Celebrity chefs Sanjay Thumma, Nikitha Umesh, and Chalapathi Rao are the judges of the show. Cooking is referred to as a science by Chalapathi Rao in the promo, while Nikitha Umesh calls it a “a feeling of love." Meanwhile, Sanjay Thumma describes it as an art.
The auditions for the show were held in Vizag at Sun College Beach Campus and in Hyderabad at ICBM College, Attapur. Both were organised in October of last year.
The MasterChef India franchise hopes to connect with regional viewers through the show's regional language adaptation. It has also been able to recognise the subtle cultural differences that are unique to a given area.
MasterChef India Telugu Season 1
The first season of this culinary show was aired on Gemini TV from August to November 2021. The judges panel of the show featured Chalapathi Rao, Sanjay Thumma, and Mahesh Padala. Actresses Tamannaah Bhatia and Anasuya Bharadway hosted the 16 and 8 episodes, respectively, of the programme. Hyderabad resident and home baker K Krishna Tejasvi won the Masterchef title this season.
Masterchef India Tamil
The Tamil season of the show will also be available on SonyLiv starting January 22. Koushik Shankar, who was on the jury panel of the first season, Rakesh Raghunathan, and Shreeya Adka are the judges of Masterchef India Tamil. Actor Vijay Sethupathi hosted this show, which is streaming on OTTplay Premium and SunNXT.
