MasterChef has been a massive success in India, with the Hindi edition striking a chord with the masses on television and on OTT. While the Telugu and Tamil editions of the show, hosted by actors Tamannaah and Vijay Sethupathi, were aired on television in 2021, Sony LIV has confirmed a new season of the culinary shows in both languages this week.
Sony LIV will premiere the regional adaptations of the shows MasterChef India (Tamil) and MasterChef India (Telugu) in the coming weeks. While the panel for the Tamil version comprises chefs Koushik Shankar, Shreeya Adka and Rakesh Raghunathan, the Telugu version’s jury includes chefs Sanjay Thumma, Nikitha Umesh and Chalapathi Rao.
With the Telugu and Tamil adaptations, MasterChef India hopes to resonate with the masses and make a determined effort to understand their cultural nuances and tastes. The franchise seeks to celebrate the diversity in food across the country by venturing into regional markets with the new shows. The official premiere dates of the shows will be announced by the streamer soon.
