The world in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might have moved on to the Multiverse saga and the complexities that have come with it. But a giant piece of our heart is still stuck in the Infinity Saga, where the OG Avengers fought Thanos and brought back peace to the world that lived in the horrors of the blip for half a decade. Avengers: Endgame was a movie that brought us to the edge of our seats, made us cry, and felt a tsunami of emotions for fictional superheroes. The movie was magic and the scenes from it are still fresh in our minds. While the war and the action of it all is something that made us all excited, we all felt pride and love when Captain America, aka Steve Rogers played by Chris Evans, chose to go back in time and return the Infinity Stones to where they belong.
The scene was super special because the moment he bounced back in reality from the time machine that took him back years and brought him back, he was an old man who no longer wanted to serve as Captain America. Everyone was so shocked to see the moment when he handed over the shield to Sam Wilson, giving him the mantle of Cap. But we were all curious to know what exactly happened when he went back to return the Infinity Stones. Because a post-credit scene saw Steve reunite with his lady love, Peggy Carter. What if we tell you Marvel is planning a show at that time?
Yes, you read that right. According to the new rumour that has come from My Time To Shine Hello, a scooper who has consistently given substantial rumours that turned out to be true, the bosses at the Marvel camp are planning a limited series centred around Captain America and the time he spent in the past when he went back to return the Infinity Stones in the climax of Avengers: Endgame. The studio is working on a plan to make this show a reality.
This is not the first time we have heard a rumour like that, though. Fans have been wanting to see what happened during the time Captain America went back because it looked like a few seconds in Avengers: Endgame. It was certainly years in the alternate universe. And time definitely works differently in the MCU, remember? There are no updates on who the studio might bring to shape the series.
The only thing confirmed at this point is that if the Captain America show happens, it will be on Disney+. However, Chris Evans has been haunted by the questions around returning every time he sits for an interview. The last time he spoke about the same, the actor was content with whatever he was given for the part and called his return a ‘tall order’. But then you can never guess because Kevin Feige might just develop a bulletproof script and lure Evans into coming back to the camp that made him a household name.
