It's official! The much-awaited high-voltage action thriller Mark Antony is all set to hit screens on September 15 on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi. The film marks the maiden collaboration between Vishal and SJ Suryah and has Ritu Varma playing the leading lady. The rest of the star cast includes Sunil, Selvaraghavan, Abhinaya, Kingsley and YG Mahendran.

Mark Antony is touted to be a time travel film, in which Vishal and Suryah travel back and forth in time, using a phone to take revenge on each other. Besides heavy-duty action sequences, the movie will have quirky and funny episodes too. Mark Antony has some top-notch technicians handling different crafts. The film’s music is by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography is by Abhinandan Ramanujam, and Vijay Velukutty is handling the editing. One of India’s top stunt director Peter Hein has choreographed the action sequences, alongside Dhilip Subbarayan, Kanal Kannan, and Dinesh Subbarayan.

There had been a freak accident on the sets in which both Vishal and SJ Suryah escaped by a matter of a few seconds. The team was shooting for a scene that involved a truck entering the set. The truck was supposed to pause but it lost control and damaged the set that was erected for the shoot.

The film is bankrolled by S Vinok Kumar. Since Vishal's outing Laththi failed to make a mark at the box office, expectations are riding high on the film.

After the release of Mark Antony, Vishal is likely to begin work on his long-delayed detective thriller, Thupparivalan 2. The film will mark his debut as a director and will be a sequel to Mysskin's Thupparivalan (2017). Though Mysskin was supposed to direct the second part, he walked out of the film after creative differences between Vishal and him.
