Director Mari Selvaraj's next film to be released is Vaazhai. The makers on Thursday released the first single from the film, Thenkizhakku, along with unveiling the release date of the movie. The music for Vaazhai is scored by Santhosh Narayanan.
Vaazhai release date and first single out
The first single from Vaazhai, Thenkizhakku, was released by the makers on social media on Thursday. The song is sung by Dhee, with lyrics written by Yugabharathi and music scored by Santhosh Narayanan. Thenkizhakku is a melodic number, with the lyrical video accompanying the visuals from the film. In addition to releasing the first single, the makers also announced that the film will hit theatres on August 23.
Vaazhai is helmed by Mari Selvaraj, who has given us hard-hitting films like Karnan, Maamannan and Pariyerum Perumal. The film has been made under the banners Disney+ Hotstar, Navvi Studios, and Farmer’s Master Plan Production, with Red Giant Movies releasing it. Given the streaming platform’s association with the project, it is assumed that Disney+ Hotstar also has the post-theatrical streaming rights to the film.
Actors Ponvel M, Raghul R, Kalaiyarasan, Nikhila Vimal, J Sathish Kumar, Dhivya Duraisamy, Janaki, and others are part of the cast, with Mari Selvaraj and Divya Mari Selvaraj serving as producers. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Theni Eswar and editor Suriya Pradhaman.
Mari Selvaraj’s next is Bison
Mari Selvaraj is currently working with actor Dhruv Vikram for a sports film based on kabbadi. The cast includes actors Anupama Parameswaran, Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Rajisha Vijayan, and more. The team had recently completed the first schedule of the film.
Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions are backing the film. This marks the second collaboration of Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj after Pariyerum Perumal.
Bison will have music scored by Nivas K Prasanna, marking his first time working with Mari Selvaraj. Bison will be shot by cinematographer Ezhil Arasu and editor Sakthikumar. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
