The makers of the Malayalam upcoming film, Marco, have confirmed the wrap up of its shoot today (August 28). The movie, which has set high expectations among film enthusiasts due to its high octane action sequences, is expected to release in theatres in December 2024 or January 2025.

"Get ready to witness Unni Mukundan like never before. His mass action sequences and jaw-dropping transformation in this film are going to set a new standard and we promise to redefine action genre in Malayalam film industry," said the producers, in a statement posted on social media platforms.

Following the start of production, information regarding the cast of Marco had come to light. Reports state that Jagadish plays the antagonist. Abhimanyu Thilakan, the late actor Thilakan's grandson and son of Shammi Thilakan, is also making his acting debut in this movie in a negative role. Yukthi Tareja, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, and Siddique are among the supporting cast members of the movie. 

Who is Marco Jr played by Unni Mukundan?

The film tells the tale of Marco Jr., an infamous villain in Malayalam films. Marco Jr. as the antagonist in the Haneef-directed 2019 movie Mikhael. You may watch this movie on Amazon Prime. The charming antagonist Marco Jr., who wants revenge for his brother's and nephew's deaths, was portrayed by Unni in Mikhael. After a seven-year hiatus from the action genre, the young actor revealed in an OTTplay interview that he will finally be starring in an action film alongside Marco. It's also said to be the bloodiest movie ever made.

He continued by saying that he preferred to think of the film as a celebration of violence and that it will be considerably more brutal than viewers could have ever anticipated. The actor went on to declare that Marco would be a masterfully done project and that he has been waiting a long time to be a part of an amazing action film.
