Marco, which hit the theatres as the most violent film ever produced by the Indian film industry, has impressed audiences by delivering what it promised. The movie has been winning hearts with its never-seen-before action sequences, and the performances by Unni Mukundan, senior actor Jagadish, and antagonist Kabir Duhan Singh. While Jagadish’s performance as Tony Issac in the Haneef Adeni directorial impressed most of the audiences, some of the netizens feel that the popular actor was miss cast in the film.
Most of the Malayalam cinema audiences, especially the loyal fans of the senior actor are highly impressed with his drastic image makeover in the film. However, a few others feel that the actor was not fit for the role of Tony Issac, even though he delivered a commendable performance in the film. However, Jagadish’s fans and a large group of cinephiles are defending the casting decision, stating that watching the actor playing the role which lies out of his comfort zone, was a treat to watch.
“It is yet another movie the inflated balloon of Jagadish is exposed. He has become the new 'Jayaram incarnated' for serious roles,” wrote a netizen, who is unhappy with the actor’s casting. “Jagadeesh is pure miss cast in Marco,” reads a post. “Jagadish sir did bring a smooth aura to that character,” wrote a netizen, who defended the actor’s casting in the film. “Watched the gorefest 'marco' today, and the highlight for me was seeing Jagadish, whom Hindi audiences remember as the hilarious pandu from 'hungama', playing a bad-ass, ruthless villain,” wrote a non-Malayali fan.
