Unni Mukundan’s violent action-thriller Marco is literally notching up records as it continues its rampage at the box office. The most violent action thriller from Malayalam breached the borders of Kerala, and is impressing audiences in the northern parts of the country with its Hindi dubbed version. The Hindi version of the film, which presented Unni Mukundan in his most brutal avatar yet, has witnessed a phenomenal rise in the number of shows from a meagre 34 to a whopping 3000 in just two weeks. Fans of Malayalam movies should read more about the success saga of Marco.
After shocking audiences in Kerala with its relentless violence, Unni Mukundan’s Marco is stomping its authority in the Hindi-speaking lands with the dubbed version getting more screens and shows. It has gotten over 1327 screens and more than 3000 shows for Hindi, not a common trend, especially for Malayalam films in cities such as Mumbai and Delhi.
OTTplay also brings you a breakup of the screens across cities
Mumbai – 425, Delhi UP – 325, Rajasthan – 45, and Bihar – 76.
Initially, Mumbai and Delhi collectively only had 34 shows, and now more shows have been added in other states, including Odisha, and West Bengal.
Marco hit theatres in Delhi on December 20, 2024, along with the original Malayalam version. Now, the leading man himself is expected to turn up at the cinemas to witness the audience's reactions.
Needless to say, the increase in shows and screens has also reflected on the box office collections. The Hindi version of Marco alone brought in Rs 65 lakh of the film's Day 14 box collection, which totalled up to Rs 1.8 crore.
What is more impressive is that Marco Hindi's total collection is at Rs 4.65 crore, yet another record for a Malayalam film. Marco’s Tamil and Telugu versions are also contributing to the movie’s collection.

Now with Marco poised to enter Korea that too with a record number of screens, the makers will be hoping for bigger returns as well.
Marco now faces competition from Tovino Thomas’ Identity in Kerala theatres, that released on January 2, 2025. But there have been no other major releases, even in other languages, giving free rein to Unni Mukundan’s film.
