With few releases this week, Malayalam movie Marco has truly cashed in at the box offices in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and North India on Day 14 of its release. While the Unni Mukundan-starrer registered a drop of 47% from its Thursday earnings, the movie looks good to cross Rs 50 Cr in revenue from India market, with its Tamil version set to hit theatres on Friday (January 3).
The Haneef Adeni directorial collected Rs 1.8 Cr on Day 14, with the Hindi version leading the charge with Rs 65 lakh, while its Telugu and Malayalam versions fetched Rs 40 lakh and Rs 75 lakh, respectively, according to industry trackers Sacnilk.
The total box office collection, so far, for Marco’s Hindi version stand at Rs 4.65 Cr – a record for a Malayalam movie. This could cross Rs 6 Cr by the end of its third weekend, with the film now playing in over 500 screens in North India.

Meanwhile, it’s also surprising that the movie’s original version in Malayalam continues to go steady, especially with Tovino Thomas’ Identity hitting theatres on January 2. The latter is a suspense thriller with action elements and also stars Trisha Krishnan and Vinay Rai.
What could help Marco cross Rs 50 Cr by Day 17 would be the Tamil version of the film, which will be playing in about 130 screens in Tamil Nadu. The worldwide box office collection of Marco is expected to be around Rs 80 Cr so far, with the GCC collection slowing down the past week, despite the Hindi version’s release on January 1 in the Middle East.
Marco will also be hitting in a record number of screens in South Korea soon, taking down the record set by Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion in 2017.
