Malayalam star Unni Mukundan’s latest actioner Marco just keeps surprising. The movie, which had hit theatres on December 20, registered one of its biggest single-day earning on Sunday (January 1), on account of its Hindi and Telugu versions fetching more than Rs 1 Cr each from the respective markets.
According to early estimates of Day 13 of Marco’s theatrical run, the Haneef Adeni directorial raked in Rs 3.5 Cr from Indian box office, taking its overall domestic tally to Rs 42.15 Cr.

The movie had made only Rs 1.35 Cr on December 31, its lowest since the release. So, Day 13 collections saw an increase of almost 160% for the movie, showing that it still has legs to make it to the Rs 100 Cr club. While the makers are yet to reveal the worldwide gross, it is estimated that the movie has made over Rs 75 Cr already.
What drove the Day 13 collections is the increase in screens for its Hindi version, which brought in Rs 1.2 Cr (Marco’s highest single-day collection for a dubbed version since its release), and the Telugu version that hit theatres on January 1, fetched Rs 1.15 Cr.
The Hindi version of the film, which is rated A for its non-stop violence and bloodletting , played 1200+ shows, with Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad leading with 224, 93 and 57 shows, respectively. The Hindi-dubbed version had also released in GCC countries on January 1.
Also, on January 1, the film sold 73k tickets in India, according to BookMyShow figures revealed by Marco’s team. Only Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule and Mufasa: The Lion King sold more – 192k and 158k, respectively.
While Marco will have competition at the Kerala box office from today onwards, with Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan’s Identity releasing, the film will be looking at Tamil Nadu to increase its box office revenue, with the Tamil version set to hit theatres on January 3, 2025.
