Marco box office collection Day 1: Unni Mukundan reunited with young filmmaker Haneef Adeni for the action thriller, which is touted to be the most violent film ever made in Malayalam. The movie, which has been receiving positive reviews from audiences and critics, has set a new record by crossing the Rs. 10 crore mark on Day 1. Interestingly, Marco has now beaten Kammatipaadam, the Dulquer Salmaan starrer, to become the highest-grossing ‘A’ rated film of Malayalam cinema.

According to the latest updates, Marco has made an extraordinary opening at the worldwide box office, earning a whopping Rs. 10.08 crore on its Day 1 at the theatres. According to the latest updates, Unni Mukundan’s film earned a total of Rs. 4.45 crore from the Kerala box office alone on its release day, thus emerging as the fourth highest-grossing opener of Malayalam cinema. The Gulf box office collection of the Haneef Adeni directorial now stands at Rs. 4.15 crore.

Marco beats the record of Dulquer Salmaan’s Kammatipaadam
Unni Mukundan’s mass action thriller has now beaten Kammatipaadam, the Dulquer Salmaan starrer which hit the theatres in 2016, to emerge as the ‘A’ rated film with the biggest box office opening in Malayalam cinema. While considering the ongoing trends, it is also safe to assume that Marco will soon emerge as the all-time highest grossing ‘A’ rated film ever produced by Malayalam cinema, beating the Rajeev Ravi directorial.
For the uninitiated, Kammatipaadam had collected Rs. 1.52 crore from the box office on Day 1, and around Rs. 15.1 crore within its lifetime run at the theatres. The movie, which features Dulquer Salmaan and Vinayakan in the lead roles, was made with a budget of around Rs. 7.8 crore. If you wish to revisit Kammatipaadam, the gangster action thriller film is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in Malayalam.
