If the first teaser of Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham was more about the epic scale of the movie, the second clip offered glimpses of its central characters and the conflicts that take the plot forward.

The short teaser, which was released by the actors of the film such as Mohanlal and Manju Warrier, showed the huge set pieces of Priyadarshan’s magnum opus while also giving the audience a look at its central characters.

We get to see a glimpse of the characters played by Ashok Selvan, the warrior essayed by Arjun Sarja along with the Zamorin princess and Kunjali Marakkar IV’s sidekick Chinali, played by Keerthy Suresh and Jay J Jakkrit, respectively. The romance between the latter two is a turning point in the movie, director Priyadarshan had earlier revealed.

The dark-toned teaser also revealed the battle maps and the aftermath of the war between Kunjali Marakkar IV’s forces and the Portuguese troops. It goes without saying that the visuals look spectacular, and almost makes you wonder why the makers had ever even thought of releasing the big budget period film on OTTs rather than in theatres.

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is set to release in theatres worldwide on December 2. The movie, which is set in the 16th century, has Mohanlal playing the titular character. Suniel Shetty, Manju Warrier, Pranav Mohanlal, Keerthy Suresh, Nedumudi Venu, Mukesh and Baburaj also play pivotal roles in the movie, which won this year’s National Award for Best Feature Film.

Made on a budget of about Rs 90 crore, Marakkar is reportedly the most expensive Malayalam film. The movie’s OTT release is expected to be 41 days after its theatrical run.
