Shiva Kandukuri, who forayed into the industry with Choosi Chudangane, directed by Sesha Sindhu Rao, made a mark as an actor in projects like Gamanam, Meet Cute later. He turned an out-and-out action hero for Manu Charitra, written and directed by debutant Bharath Peddagani. The film was produced by Narala Srinivas Reddy under Proddutur Talkies. Megha Akash, Pragathi Shrivastav, Priya Vadlamani played the female leads in the action romance.
The film, after facing multiple delays, released in theatres this June. Manu Charitra met with a moderate response from critics and audiences and didn't put up a good show at the box office. After its brief theatrical run, the actioner is now out on OTT. Leading streaming platform Amazon Prime Video acquired its post-theatrical digital rights and decided to premiere the film this week.
Set in Warangal, Shiva Kandukuri is cast as the titular character - Manu Durgaraj and the film revolves around the highs and lows in his life. The fun-loving youngster, who falls in love with Jennifer, his college mate, faces parental opposition to take their relationship ahead. He goes onto woo multiple women and breaks up with them quickly. He takes up a path of violence and his self-destructive approach worries his near and dear.

Pushpa fame Kannada actor Daali Dhananjaya is the antagonist while the supporting cast comprises Srikanth Iyengar, Madhu Nandhan, Harishita Chowdary, Garima Kaushal and Suhas. Gopi Sundar scored the music for it while crew comprises editor Prawin Pudi, cinematographer Rahul Shrivatsav and art director Upendar Reddy. It's a commercial fare with a mix of love, action, humour and strong emotions.
