Mansoor Ali Khan, who has been slammed by his Leo co-star Trisha and the film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj, has now tendered a 'rejoinder' on the controversy. In the statement, the actor said that he made those comments on a lighter vein.

He added that he does not get opportunities to work with actresses like he used to earlier. "I made those remarks in a lighter vein. Someone has edited out the video and showed it to Trisha. I won't be cowed down by such acts."

His statement further said, "The actresses who have worked with me have gone on to become MLAs, MPs and ministers. My daughter is a fan of Trisha. I always respect my female co-stars." Many have called his 'apology' a non-apology and said that the actor hasn't realised his grave mistake.
