Mansion 24 on OTT: Ohmkar gives a chilling twist to a popular rhyme

Beyond Ghost, Leo, Bhagavanth Kesari, Ganapath and Tiger Nageswara Rao on the big screen, the next week will also witness a multistarrer release on the digital medium. Yes, we’re talking about Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s web show Mansion 24, that marks host, director Ohmkar’s OTT debut. The show is a horror thriller that’ll premiere in multiple languages beyond Telugu on October 17.

The streamer has been aggressively promoting the show digitally - from character posters to short promos - over a week and a half. The trailer, launched last week, too won over horror enthusiasts. Apart from Varalaxmi, Mansion 24 features Satya Raj, Avika Gor, Bindu Madhavi, Archana Jois, Sriman, Rao Ramesh, Nandu, Manas, Jayaprakash, Rajeev Kanakala, Abhinaya and others.

With only five days left for the show’s release, Hotstar shared another promo today. In the promo, an entire family - comprising a child, his parents and a grandfather - are reciting the popular nursery rhyme ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ albeit with vengeance. The rhyme is likely to have a crucial connection to the backstory behind the haunted mansion in the show.

The trailer, released recently, confirmed that the show revolves around a daughter committed to finding her missing father, a noted archaeologist. None of his colleagues, friends or family is aware of his whereabouts. When the daughter discovers that he was last seen going to a haunted mission, everyone from the latter’s colleagues and cops give up on his life. However, it doesn’t halt her quest.

Is the show all about a ghost or is there a deeper mystery to the house? We’ll know soon. The web series has been made on a grand scale with top-notch technicians including cinematographer B Rajasekar, art director Ashok Kumar. Vikas Badisa, who worked for Hidimbha earlier, is the composer. Ohmkar, Ashwin Babu, Kalyan Chakravarthy produced it under Oak Entertainment.
