National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee seems to have an interesting equation with filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Hansal Mehta, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and Anubhav Sinha. Revealing that they are all his friends, in a recent media interaction, the actor apologised to all the filmmakers for some of the fights that resulted in them not talking for decades.
During an interview with the veteran journalist Rajat Sharma on his chat show Aap Ki Adalat, Manoj was asked about his fight with Anurag Kashyap, who is one of his oldest friends in the film industry. He has worked with Anurag in films like Gangs Of Wasseypur. It was revealed that Manoj ran after the filmmaker with a stone in his hand with the intention of beating him up.
Speaking about it on The Kapil Sharma Show, Anurag had said, "When Hansal (Mehta) was directing Khana Khazana, we used to gather at Gulzar’s house for food tasting because we all were hungry and struggling. There, Manoj thought that I said something to insult him, so he ran after me with a stone in his hand to hit me, and Hansal tried to stop him."
As a result of this incident, Anurag and Manoj did not talk to each other for 11 long years.
Rajat also spoke about how Manoj ran behind filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia with a brick in his hand and once abused Hansal Mehta, which resulted in them not talking to each other for six years. Manoj worked with Hansal on the film Aligarh.
Accepting everything, the actor said, "These are all the mistakes of my youth. Daaru pee kar ladayi ho gayi thi, aur kya (The fights were a result of getting drunk; what else?)" He added, "Ji, sahi hai. Sweekar hai. Maafi maangta hoon (Yes, I admit to all this. I apologise)."
Manoj will next be seen in Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, which also stars Adrija. The film will release on ZEE5 on May 23.
