We had reported back in December 2023 that Manoj Bajpayee's Joram was to premiere at the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film, directed by Devashish Makhija, was well received at the film festival and has since been screened at other international film festivals as well.

After being screened at the Sydney Film Festival, Joram was recently screened at the 44th Durban International Film Festival. The film won two awards at the film festival: the Best Actor Award for Manoj Bajpayee and the Best Cinematography Award for Piyush Puty.

Manoj has become the first Indian actor to win the Best Actor trophy at the Durban International Film Festival.

What's more, his performances in Joram and Gulmohar have got him dual nominations for Best Actor at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, making him the only actor to be nominated twice in the same category.

Also starring Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, alongside Tannishtha Chatterjee and Rajshri Deshpande in supporting roles, Joram traces the journey of a father who is on the run with his little daughter, trying to ‘escape the ghosts from his past and the forces that want him dead’.

Speaking about the film, Manoj had said, "Joram is a riveting story of a man torn between his past and present. I loved playing the intricate character, Darsu, whose past and present have a significant contrast. On the outside, he looks like an ordinary man that people may not even notice, but in no way is he a common man. It is a brilliant story with impactful characters.”

Meanwhile, Manoj will next be seen in the second season of ZEE5’s Silence, in which he reprises his role as a cop. The show also stars Prachi Desai, Sahil Vaid, and Vaquar Shaikh in prominent roles.

Fans are also awaiting the third season of Manoj's hit series with Raj & DK, The Family Man.

Manoj was last seen in the Disney+ Hotstar film Gulmohar and ZEE5's Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.
