According to the latest reports, the Malayalam movie Manjummel Boys is all set to make its digital debut soon, after setting some major box office records, not just in Kerala but in other states too. It has been reported that the Chidambaram directorial will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar starting May 5.
The film will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, apart from Malayalam, on the popular digital platform. The cast and producers have issued a confirmation on the matter.

Manjummel Boys broke BO records across India
It is an incredible accomplishment given that the film only had a Malayalam version initially, in contrast to many other recent superhits. The team just released the Telugu and Hindi versions before the OTT release, having already made over Rs 250 crore at the box office.
A substantial amount is reportedly paid to the makers for the digital rights to Disney+ Hotstar, taking into account the film's box office and theatrical success. Many people nationwide were drawn to the big screen by the film's relatable theme of friendship and survival thriller genre.

Delay in Manjummel Boys’ OTT release
The Manjummel Boys' makers denied the reports on the OTT release in April when OTTplay contacted them recently. They affirmed that they have no plans to release it on streaming services soon. The film's Telugu dubbing was being completed during that time, and on April 6, it hit the big screen in the Telugu states.
Given that the Lok Sabha elections have caused all significant upcoming Telugu releases to be postponed, it appears that Manjummel Boys' producers have identified a good opportunity to maximise the film's box office potential.
The producers told OTTplay that they will not begin preparing for Manjummel Boys' digital release until after the film's theatrical run in the Telugu states concludes. They had disclosed that they might choose the OTT release date for Manjummel Boys by the second week of April.
